Ben Gunsberger launched his career in 1995, while studying for a Computer Science degree at the University of New South Wales.
In 1996, Ben began working at Animal Logic as part of the 3D team. He worked on television commercials and a range of feature films including The Matrix.
Ben left Australia in 2000 and joined PDI/DreamWorks in the U.S. to work as a lighting artist on the box-office hit Shrek. He then moved to ESC in San Francisco to work as a technical director on several ground-breaking sequences in Matrix: Reloaded, including the 'Truck Crash' sequence, which went on to win a Visual Effects Society Award for the Best Visual Effect of the Year.
Ben returned to Australia in 2003 and rejoined Animal Logic as lighting supervisor on George Miller’s Happy Feet, supervising a team of almost 70 on the Academy Award® winning film.
In 2006, Ben took on the role of Co-CG supervisor on Animal Logic's second computer-animated feature Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole, overseeing the 3D stereo workflow and shot production for the 500-strong team.
Following that project he extended his experience in stereoscopic filmmaking by supervising the stereo dimensionalisation of a number of sequences on the final Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.

Ben holds a Degree in Computer Science from the University of New South Wales and studied Photography at the University of California, Berkeley. Ben is a member of the Visual Effects Society, and an Associate Member of the Australian Cinematographers Society.
